Review finds flood alert system is flawed

An independent review into the February 2022 floods in south-east Queensland has found emergency alerts were delayed in some areas.

Brisbane residents didn’t receive flood warning messages until 12 hours after the flood was declared.

The report has recommended giving more high-ranking emergency service staff permission to approve disaster warning text messages.
