The COVID pandemic has led to public hospital wait times across the country blowing out, in some instances by five years.
Surgery bans during COVID and staff shortages in the sector are some of the reasons which have contributed to increased wait times.
Private hospitals haven’t been immune to the same pressures, performing half a million fewer procedures since the start of 2020.
